CCSD and Cox Communications Virtual Back to School Fair We would like to announce that the Cox Back to School Virtual Fair is up and running. Cox Communications is giving away a 60 in 4K TV and a 13 in MacBook Pro and eight other really cool “smart” prizes! The Enter to Win runs until August 31.
HPMS Free Breakfast and Lunch We are pleased to inform you that the Clark County School District Food Service Department will be implementing a program at your child’s school called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).All enrolled students at Hyde Park are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch every day for no charge during the 2020-2021 school year. No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application. Onlybreakfast and lunch meals will be free of charge; the purchase of a la carte items will require payment.
2020 Technology Survey On behalf of the staff and administration of Hyde Park, I would like to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year. Due to the ongoing Covid -19 Pandemic, the CCSD Board of Trustees has decided to start this school year off through 100% Distance Education. This means that all students will begin the school year learning from home with online learning materials provided by the school staff. In an effort to make sure that all of our students have the necessary resources to engage in online learning, please complete the attached survey. The survey will need to be completed for each student you have enrolled at Hyde Park MS. We will be communicating with all of our families regarding device deployment and how student schedules will be distributed in the next 2-weeks. Please be sure that all of your contact information is correct in the Infinite Campus Portal. Parents can update their phone number(s) and email by using the Campus Parent App or the Campus Portal website.
Presidential Award Qualifications Attention 8th Graders, some of you have received the President's Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence. I This award recognizes academic success in the classroom. To be eligible, students must meet requirements, including grade point average or, school-set criteria and choice of state tests or teacher recommendations. Hyde Park Middle School recommends all 8th grade students based on the criteria listed below:Grade Point Average: Students are to earn a grade point average of 90 on a 100 point scale, (an A on a letter scale or a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale). When computing grade point averages at the respective award level, only the years at that level are to be included through the fall semester of the 8th grade year.Congratulations to all recipients for your hard work!

2020 - 2021 School Year On-line Registration All families returning to a CCSD school must complete the annual On-line Registration. Please visit http://ccsd.net/parents/online-registration.php to complete your registration. It must be done from a computer and not a smartphone or tablet. Additionally, it can only be accessed from the Parent/Guardian account and not the student account.

Yearbook Pickup and Item Drop off Attention Hyde Park Panthers, As we move into Phase-2 of opening Nevada we are announcing that on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, students that pre-purchased a yearbook can pick up their yearbook in the bus parking lot. While these students are here they may also drop off any textbooks, instruments, or other Hyde Park Middle School items that need to be returned with the exception of school-issued Chromebooks. Students will keep their Chromebooks through the end of the summer. The schedule is as follows with the first initial of the last name and must be followed: Tuesday, June 9, 2020.• 8:00-9:00 (A-F) • 9:00-10:00 (G-L) • 10:00-11:00 (M-Q) • 11:00-12:00 (R-Z)If you are not picking up a yearbook, but have items to return, please return those items in the bus parking lot from 12:00-1:00. Those yearbooks not picked up during the scheduled time will be delivered to the student when we return for the next school year.Students and parents must stay in their cars as they move through the stations. Free Business and Computer Science Course - Link Updated Please look at this unique opportunity for our students being offered by a non-profit group led by a CCSD student at Northwest Career and Tech. Elevate the Future is a global organization, with 25 chapters, 12 states, and 6 countries involved, that teaches students skills that are applicable to the real world! Many young students grow up without a comprehensive understanding of the skills they have and the areas in which they can apply these skills. Here at Elevate the Future, we strive to provide young students with the resources to realize their passions early and apply these passions in a way they can excel. Our goal is to foster an environment in which students are able to explore various activities and discover and apply the skills they possess. I started a Nevada chapter with Gabby Detrick, Ashley Plan, and three others. We would like to inform you of an Online Two-Week Business and Computer Science Course (two days/week) that we are offering to local middle school students. Taught by local high school students with comprehensive experience in business and computer science, this completely FREE program has been proven to increase student’s business knowledge and abilities by 50%, as proven from other chapter’s experiences.This Online Business Course will be on the dates of Tuesday, June 2th & Thursday, June 4th for the first week. Tuesday, June 9th & Thursday, June 11th are the dates for the second week. This class will be held from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm on the dates listed above. Those who attend will learn about economics, finance, pricing, revenue, marketing, and how to write a business plan!
